  5. Here is a fairly comprehensive modem tuneup procedure for 2211/2206 based
  6. modems.  When the appendices are included, there is a lot of modem
  7. information gathered into 1 reference.  Much of it I have never seen
  8. published elsewhere.

  10. Please publish this both in PSR and in whatever SIG(s) you feel appropriate
  11. on compuserve.  Although primarily intended for packet TNCs, much of the same
  12. information presented here applies to RTTY modems based on the 2211/2206 pair
  13. as well.

  15. The appendices are not presented in any logical order.  They appear in the
  16. order they were written.  If you want to rearrange them more logically, feel
  17. free to do so.

  19. The description of the DCD modification for TNC-2s is short of specific
  20. physical location information because the TNC which I used to check out the
  21. mod was a MFJ-1274.  I am not sure how closely the 1274 board resembles the
  22. other TNC-2 clones in the modem area.  This means that the people who do this
  23. mod will have to find the physical locations of connections from the
  24. schematic part number references and then trace them out on the board.  I
  25. don't have time right now to put the mod in a TNC-2 and rewrite the
  26. modification procedure.  I may be able to do that in the future sometime if
  27. you think it would be really useful to do so.
